Compleat Food Network is very pleased to hear that recent donations of chick peas and quinoa to the charity, FareShare, have been delivered to their depot and are now on their way to different charities all over the country.
FareShare works by taking good, in date, surplus food and redistributing it to frontline charities across the UK, who transform the food into meals. Charity partners including breakfast clubs, homeless hostels and women’s refuges are just some of the recipients who use the food to feed those who need it. All the food supplied by FareShare enables charities to serve up over 18 million meals per year.
Food from CFN’s warehouse that could have otherwise gone to waste has been sent to some of the 2489 charities that FareShare works with. To find out more about FareShare, or to make a donation, take a look on their website www.fareshare.org.uk.
